Industrial SSDs incorporate small energy storage components—typically tantalum or polymer capacitors—that charge during normal operation. When main power is lost, these capacitors provide 50-100 milliseconds of backup power, enabling the controller to:

Update FTL (Flash Translation Layer) mapping tables
